Watch out for the Kentucky "highway speed shoulder pass" if you have to enter KY.
Re: best way to get to London, KY fron Norton?
yep!^^^^^^^^^they are bad for that. Had one pass me on the shoulder in Pineville that way. I was traveling the speed limit and they passed me on the shoulder.

I have experienced that all over Kentucky. I always commented that in VA they wouldn't get away with it.
Also watch out. Kentucky drivers do not merge when the lane ends. If it is their lane that ends, they just stay in the lane and expect you to let them in.

Also, Kentucky drivers love to sit at green lights.
Some of the intersections here in Lexington just have like a fork in the middle of the road to where you can only turn one way out and one way in and sometimes you have to U turn.

I use to travel 23north to Pound and turn up to South Fork. It brings you out in Cumberland and then travel to Harlan, Pineville and a shortcut to Williamsburg to I-75. I can't remember exactly,, but about 20 minutes or so to London. I love the backroads..
